Caribbean Shipping Project Experience

20 years and Millions of Tons of Experience

ship to puerto rico

CABLE REELS TO EQUADOR
80 reels of power conductor cable. The cable reels for this project are very large, therefore all required a single drop trailer and many required over width permits. Due to the size of the reels, conventional shipping containers could not be used therefore the reels were shipped as break-bulk cargo. Quantities consisted of 16 to 36 reels per sailing, exceeding 630,000 lbs. All reels were stowed under deck as specified from the supplier.

MASS TRANSIT SYSTEMS
ICE transported 5500 tons of 80' rail sections for the San Juan Tren Urbano. ICE provided: 24 Hour Notice to coordinate pickup, ocean transport, and jobsite delivery in less than 7 working days of over 3200 separate pieces - many over dimensional.

Full turnkey services of outbound port transfers, stevedoring, ocean charters, and through door delivery to numerous and remote jobsite locations.

SPECIALIZED & OVER DIMENSIONAL
A Praxair, Inc. Caribbean plant expansion required multiple CO2 tanks to be transported from a supplier in Louisiana. Notable features of the move included:
The tanks were 117' x 13' x 13' and weighed over
200,000 pounds each.
Our customer was provided with complete
door-to-door service and all-inclusive rate.

Prior to the bid award, ICE's special projects team prepared a thorough and comprehensive planning proposal including all special inland, ocean, and delivery route considerations.

EXPANSION & NEW CONSTRUCTION
When Duke/Fluor Daniel was contracted by AES for the Total Energy Plant, in Guayama, PR, the project presented ICE with some unique opportunities:

boiler tubes, control houses, transformers, turbines
and heavy construction equipment.
Coordinating shipments from vendors in over 25 states
and Mexico, many with critical deadlines, consolidation
and warehousing requirements.
Efficient utilization of 3 ocean carriers (both vessel
